SHARRON'S ROUND-UP 24.09.15
Some important bits in here ... please read all the way through.....
Taunton 10k Sunday
John Lewis has kindly said we can set a promo table up again in the main hall on Sunday, so if anyone not running and would like to help take turns in loitering at the stand that would be great...
Please meet at the table at 10.30 prompt for a photo.... does anyone have anything more than a point and press like mine?
Keith will then take a warm up out on the grass if anyone would like to join in....
Good luck everyone..... this race is such a showcase for the club and what a team we are!!!
Report from Mark Jones who has been training his little socks off for this.... now over we hope to see him back at the track!
The race consists of a 2.4 mile sea swim, 112 mile bike course with over 6500 ft of climbing, 26.2 mile run course with over a 1000 ft climbing making this ironman one of the toughest.
My times were swim 1hr 21, bike 7hr 14, run 4hr 45. Total time with transitions 13hr 43. Div rank 112 overall rank 791 from over 2000 athletes.
The support was unbelievable going up some hills on the bike single file "Tour de France" like. Doing it in the memory of my father in law & uncle supporting charities that were part of Owen's life (Taunton Samaritans ) & who helped Doug (St Margarets Hospice) really did spur me on. Also having family members there made it very special & emotional.
