SHARRON'S ROUND-UP 30.04.15
Virgin London Marathon
With a strong team of 5 from Taunton AC treading the streets of London, the weather this year was much better for the runners and the TAC team showed what a great set of club runners we are.
Phil Burden 2h 29m 54s (as seen on TV !) and James Watson 2h 39m 17s both with pb’s in 54th and 274th places respectively out of 35,000 runners ! Seriously guys, could you try harder next time there were not enough people behind you !!!!
Patrick Casey, a comparatively short distance for him as a Comrades marathon regular with a solid 3h 15m 22s.You snuck in under the radar there Patrick, we could not believe our eyes when we saw you.... hoped you heard us shouting at you at mile 25 !!!
First timers to the marathon distance, Simon Patterson, worried about a niggling injury he set himself an achievable time and met it to the minute with perfect pacing of 3h 30m 42s (you want to have a look at his 5k splits guys....) and Carl Ward 4h 04m 59s, struggling with the last few miles , Carl just missed the 4 hour mark, but is now in Lanzarote competing in a triathlon and a half marathon with Julian! (Lesley and Richard Westgate are also travelling and doing the half marathon.)
Also well done to those at Bridgwater 10k, hope you saw the write up in the paper !
Training next week .... Keith and I are in Cornwall for 5 days next week so will not be there on Tuesday, but our super-sub, Inspector Richard Caburn (as seen in your Gazette today !) will be putting you through your paces.
Thursday, please meet as normal and do 8 hills at Bishops Hull on Badger Hill , I will need a report back that they have been completed !
See you all Tuesday 12th or at park run this Saturday !
Happy Running,
S x
PS Anyone left to pay their subs yet?
