Both Seren and Abby competed at the England Athletics Senior, Under 23 and Under 20 Combined Event Championships in Sheffield on Saturday and Sunday 8th and 9th January.

Seren had an unexpected and superb day on Saturday, winning the Under 20 Pentathlon. Her day started with the hurdles in which she set the fastest time in the field, the high jump and shot were good performances, but then she set the furthest distance on the long jump.  With only the 800m left she knew that a good run and keeping her competitors within touching distance may give her a chance and she did just that.

On Sunday, Abby was up in the mixed age group 3000m Race Walk, and despite not finishing in the time she wanted, she walked her way to a third place in the Senior classification and 2nd place in the Under 20 age group classification.  Well done to both of you - well-deserved reward for all the hard work you put in to your athletics!
